Members of the West and West Coast Local Voice met with community at Yalata and Ceduna in June 2025 to hear their views about three key focus areas for 2025.
Community spoke with Voice Members about the need for coordination of service providers, having services on community, and consistent access to a doctor and a dentist. Other key issues discussed were access to housing, building local skills to maintain housing and alleviating homelessness and overcrowding.
Particular ideas proposed by community include access to legal advice for managing fines, providing health education for parents, and enabling health services to visit prisons. For children, providing culturally safe spaces and addressing racism in schools would boost their safety and wellbeing.
Community input is essential to the working of the SA Voice to Parliament. Thank you to community participants for sharing your views and ideas for change. Special thanks also to Yalata Community for organising the BBQ.
West and West Coast Members will be hosting more opportunities for hearing community views later in the year. Feedback can also be provided to Members at any time via the Voice’s online form.
