The State First Nations Voice is establishing Advisory Committees to hear the views of specific groups. These committees reflect the feedback provided during the early rounds of community engagement about the Voice model.

Committee members will be paid to attend meetings. All committees will be supported by the First Nations Voice Secretariat, and report to the State First Nations Voice.

Members of these committees cannot be members of Local or State Voices.

How to apply

If you're interested in joining one of our Advisory Committees, there are three simple steps to complete your application.

Application and eligibility requirements

Before submitting your nomination, please review the application and eligibility requirements for each committee below.

To nominate for the Native Title Advisory Committee, you must:

  • be a First Nations person; and
  • be a member and be nominated by your respective prescribed Native Title Body; and
  • reside in South Australia; and
  • not be a current member of the SA Voice.

When submitting your nomination you will need to provide:

  • A short statement confirming that the nominee meets the eligibility requirements, and
  • A summary of the nominee's relevant experience or connection to native title matters.
  • If the nominee is a person other than the Chairperson of the relevant Native Title Body, please attached a signed letter confirming the endorsement of the nominee.

To nominate for the Stolen Generations Advisory Committee, you must:

  • be a First Nations person; and
  • be either:
    • a survivor of the Stolen Generations, or
    • a descendant of Stolen Generations survivors; and
  • reside in South Australia; and
  • not be a current member of the SA Voice.

When submitting your nomination you will need to provide:

  • A short statement (up to 300 words) outlining your connection to the Stolen Generations, your lived experience or advocacy, and why you wish to join the Committee, and
  • A summary of your experience and interest in contributing to the Committee.

To nominate for the First Nations Elders Advisory Committee, you must:

  • be a First Nations person; and
  • be recognised as an Elder by your community; and
  • reside in South Australia; and
  • not be a current member of the SA Voice.

When submitting your nomination you will need to provide:

  • A short statement (up to 300 words) outlining your community recognition as an Elder and about your connection to culture, community, and why you’d like to be part of the Committee, and
  • A summary of your experience and interest in contributing to the Committee.

To nominate for the First Nations Youth Advisory Committee, you must:

  • be a First Nations person between the ages of 15 and 25; and
  • be connected to your culture, community, and identity; and
  • be recognised by your community for your emerging leadership, participation or contribution; and
  • reside in South Australia; and
  • not be a current member of the SA Voice.

When submitting your nomination you will need to provide:

  • A short statement (up to 300 words) about your connection to culture, community, and why you’d like to be part of the Committee; and
  • A summary of your experience and interest in contributing to the Committee.
