
The First Nations Native Title Advisory Committee will be made up of 1 First Nations person nominated by each prescribed Native Title body and appointed by the State Voice.
The State Voice will be writing to all prescribed Native Title Bodies seeking nominations soon.

Purpose and functions
The Committee will:
- Provide advice on such other matters relating to Native Title as directed by the State Voice.
- Advise the State Voice on matters relating to the interests, rights, responsibilities, and aspirations of Native Title holders and their representative bodies.
- Ensure that State Voice activities are consistent with the principles and obligations of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).
- Provide culturally informed and grounded advice on issues affecting Native Title rights and interests in South Australia, including the ongoing impacts of removal policies.
- Facilitate dialogue, coordination, and collaboration between the State Voice and Native Title bodies on matters such as land management, cultural heritage, governance, economic development, and government engagement.
- Support cultural governance, mutual respect, and the recognition and strengthening of traditional law and custom, as upheld through Native Title determinations.
- Contribute to policy-making and structural reforms that respect and protect Native Title rights and responsibilities.
Membership
The Committee will consist of one (1) First Nations person nominated by each Native Title body prescribed under the First Nations Voice Regulations and are appointed by the State Voice.
All members must:
- be First Nations persons;
- be members and be nominated by their respective prescribed Native Title body;
- reside in South Australian; and
- not be current members of the State Voice or any Local First Nations Voice.
Where possible, the State Voice will do its best to achieve equal gender diversity in the composition of the committee.
Term of office
Members will be appointed for a term not exceeding two (2) years and will be eligible for reappointment, unless they have served two (2) consecutive maximum terms (4 years total).
Meetings
The Committee will meet at least two (2) times per year.
Members are expected to attend all meetings and participate in all processes constructively, and in good faith.
Meetings will be held at a time and location (or virtual platform) determined by the Chairs in consultation with the State Voice and other members.
